FEAR!

What are you afraid of? Interesting question. We don’t like to talk about things that we fear, well because IT BRINGS THE FEAR TO OUR MINDS, duh, lol. There are so many things, some are physical, some are mental, all are real to the individual. Jesus knows, as a matter of fact He says this statement the most. Do not be afraid.

Luke 5:10-11

And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” 11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.

The two biggest fears that are most common to all   1 – Death. 2 – Public speaking (I know, that one cracks me up.)  Fear stops us from doing many things. Maybe you have a fear of heights. So, you probably won’t go up the Sear’s tower in Chicago and look…it’s really high up. You are missing an incredible view. Let’s get to the point of this pastor’s corner. We fear doing, talking about Christ in so many ways. What fear stops you? Some fear that they might say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing, and it drives people away from hearing about the only way to salvation, which is Jesus. Ok, I get it. Some won’t do things because of rejection. I get that. Some won’t do things because it will take money. I get that also. We can come up with many fears that stop us from talking about the love of Christ Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life and only through Him do we come to the Father. Here is the point we must all remember, Jesus is the only way that we have salvation. There is no other way!  Without Christ, Hell is what is left. This sounds quite dark, and it is, but it is the truth. Without Christ there is only hell. So, what am I, your pastor, afraid of? I’m afraid that if I don’t tell of the loving salvation of Christ Jesus, someone might end up in hell. Now I know God is bigger than me and He will save even if I fall to my fears.  Mark 13:10-11 10 And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations. 11 And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Jesus saves us. We don’t save ourselves. He does it because of His great love for us all. Don’t walk in fear, trust in God above all things. Do not be afraid.  There is nothing above God, no luck, coincidence or fears, just God who loves you beyond all things.  God bless you today and always.
